BEAVER Album Hits Problems!! ....
-
Since March 2005, 'BEAVER' have been working on a new 10 track album, set to be our best work yet, and another CD that we could make available to fans. However after many many delays, along with an immense lack of quality and production/engineering work from Cheshire Sound, the band have decided that it is no longer possible to get a product that does any justice, more importantly, a product we would dare pass on to you - the fans. With this decision taken, 'BEAVER' have parted company with Cheshire Sound Production in Northwich, and are currently seeking terms of compensation. On a brighter note, we will be getting down to 'Frog Studios' in Warrington very soon [engineers of our last CD] and start the recording process again so we can finally get our new CD completed!!

BEAVER Forthcoming Album ....
-
'BEAVER' (Castor fiber) never intended to take on the world with their own compositions and probably never will, but if good old honest, energetic rock & roll performed with maximum gusto was ever your thing, then you should certainly catch a gig or two before retiring to slipperdom.
Formed circa 1995, although none of the band mambers is quite sure exactly, they are regarding 2005 as the tenth anniversary and in true commemorative style have recorded a compilation of some of their best work, and more importantly, what in effect is some of the material that touches them enough to have kept the act in vigour and health these past ten years.
Rock & Roll, the greatest of the musical phrases covers a multitude of era and styles, and 'BEAVER's repertoire is as eclectic and diverse as anything you are likely to see, and the bands 'hat tipping' over the years has left few heads untouched, while it would be true to say the most predominant writing force and influence on their live set is the 'Jagger/Richards' partnership. That fact is reflected on this disc, weighing in with 3 of their most penned songs, 'Sympathy For The Devil', 'Wild Horses' and the epic 'Can't Always Get What You Want' as well as 'Not Fade Away' an early Stones cover itself.
The selection process for recording was based on the bands ability to re-interpret certain songs in such a way as to make them their own. A rhythm and blue's classic, 'Got My Mojo Working' is a typical example, pacey and mean, but in contrast, their version of R.E.M's classic rock anthem, 'The One I Love' is a stripped back ballad, almost 'unplugged' and display's the tender side the 'BEAVER's nature. Then there's the obligatory instrumental, represented here by John Barry's theme from the film 'Midnight Cowboy', a haunting melody that adds another string to the bow of listening versatility, while the late Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison Blues' is, for want of a better description, punked up a little, hope he'd approve! One hit wonder War's funky 'Low Rider' and little known 60's garage combo The Sonic's 'Have Love Will Travel' complete the the track line up, the latter perhaps being the least commercially successful tune on the album, though we at 'BEAVER' have never worried too much about accessibility, one of our downfalls some say, one of our strengths, say others.

Northwich Guardian Incorrect Promotion ....
-
We would like to apologise to all the poeple that gave up their Saturday night to come down to Winnington Rec. due to an incorrect article in the Northwich Guardian. The article was about 'BEAVER' and advertised a Private Party gig that was in our online Gig Guide, as a free to all open gig. The editor of the newspaper was at fault here, the band take no responsibility for accuracy of 3rd party articles. Thanks to Chris who's birthday it was to allow these poeple in so they could watch the performance! In future, please check our Gig Guide for information on gigs, we always tell the truth!

BEAVER Unvail New PA Rig - Fri 24th Sept 2004....
-
Well, it's been long overdue, but finally we have dug deep and got ourselves a nice new PA system. It's just under a 2.5kW rig, comprising of a 16 channel 'Behringer' desk, and a smaller 'Behringer' 6 channel drum sub mix. The system is powered by 2x 'McGregor' 1200W Amplifier, one high pass and one low pass crossover. And finally we are using 'OHM' 2x12" top speakers, and 'OHM' 2x 18" sub's.
It really does make a difference to the quality of the sound, a fuller sound all round!! Especially as we know have the drums in the mix, so Dave doesn't have to kill himself to be heard!! We should have the system in use from October 2004. Our old system, which was a 'StudioMaster' powered desk, more a vocal PA, can now be used to run the foldback monitor systems for the band.

- After over 5 years in the band, 'Rich' (Guitar and pretty boy) has had to make the difficult decision to to leave 'BEAVER'. We are all very sad to see Rich leave, but hope we'll see him at the odd gig.
